Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Need Info On Headlight Bulbs

hey everyone,
kinda unclear on a lot of things on headlights bulbs(daytime running, low beam, fog lights and high beams). I have heard great things about MTECH that isaac sells and i would love to buy from him because i use this site often. But whats the big difference between MTECH and PIAA. If i decided to go PIAA(high prices i no) but would it melt my wires and what PIAA model #'s should i get to replace all lights except side markers?

Check the bulb wattage that you are looking to replace your stock bulbs with.

it should be the same or somewhat close (~40watt) to the factory bulbs.

anything higher may melt your lighting harness.

I've had 50watt higher in my HI and LOW beams for the past 6 months now... no problems - but I have heard AND SEEN some horror stories.

BTW - on most aftermarket lighting packages you may see something like

"55->110"
This means that it is a 55WATT bulb that produces the same lighting as a 110watt bulb. This is a good thing - it means that the light this bulb produces is as bright as a 110watt bulb but only produces the same amount of heat as a 55watt bulb (it conforms to the same specifications as your factory lighting)
