The car might not be the most stylish thing to some of you, I peronally like it. But IMO it's better than my GTS in some aspects. Like the fact that it's RWD and a great and perferred drifter.

hehe, i have a rather large vid clip from a tv show in japan, they did a real-world track test, pitting an apex GT trueno and a Boss Trueno (full out race package) against an R32 skyline, the trueno's ripped it up hardcore, and just like in the cartoons, the R32 would pull away quick on the straights, but the little 86's would walk all over it in the twisties, the trueno's would eventually overtake and win. They are grossly underestimated cars.

You have guys running NA 4AG engines making over 200 HP, and if you got a 4AGET, well, that's just scary.

The car's almost perfectly balanced front to rear, the fact that it's cheap, rear wheel drive and easy to tune has made it a favorite among the people in the drift scene.

BTW, 80's models of the Chevy Nova were built on the same platform (they have fixed headlights, like the toyota Levin) and came with either a toyota 4AL series motor, or a 4.1L 250 CID L-6 (which makes a ton of power) Hardcore guys would swap that six cylinder motor into their corolla, or you could put a 4AG motor into your 4AL nova if you want...

Unless you are an old-school gearhead that was working on imports way back in the mid 80's you probably wouldn't know this.

For those of you who don't like it probably don't know anything about it. You probably just know that it was the main character's car in initial D. What you probably don't know the car's potential. I've seen some pretty crazy motors for those little wonders. Those cars are also very hard to find if you can find them.

Don't get it twisted, the car made the cartoon, not the cartoon made the car. Thread closed.
