Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior air filter

I have been a slacker especially with cleaning the filter in my CAI. I just decided to have it replaced and installed by someone else. The filter isn't the same K&N filter, but a filter that has an opening on the end like a funnel, where the K&N filter has it sealed off by a piece of plastic. The cost for filter and install was $20 dollars. What a difference!!! I don't mean by the new design, I just mean from a new filter. The engine just doesn't seem choked up. My idle is normal even stopping. The same grrrr rush of air on full throttle any gear is present like before and acceleration is improved. Everything is improved. My old filter was as dirty as a turd on Satan's ass. What a difference! I'm just a little worried about the open funnel end (that points inwards). But any ways everyone should clean theirs every 3-6 months. I knew this and held it of for a long time. It makes all the difference,

yeah i cleaned mine a few weeks ago... and it was dirty as fuck.

Any difference on sound, acceleraion, or am I realy going crazy?

defintately a difference is performance and a bit of sound.
