probably just looks and sound. not an expert but for max topend horsepower you want the best flowing exhaust, that would be a straight pipe, not slanted. Might create little backpressure helping out down low but probably just for looks and sound.

It's mostly for looks & it gives you higher ground clearence. Like with my TUM exhaust, it's slightly tilted up & it's a little higer off the ground than my old TSRM exhaust. I personaly like a slanted exhaust, if it's done right, like the TUM exhaust thumbsup

actually his slant was for more power less curves so that it's more staight. for example here's the trial exhaust notice the buldge curve in the design, thats because it has to go around the right part of the axel. had they made the exhaust slanted it would have been more free-er flowing but they brought it around and straight out the rear.

I thought he meant that just the tip was slanted. He couldn't have seen all of that from his point of view.

lets see if i got this rite, so if our exhaust didnt curve around the axle and instead slanted to the left side of our car, we get more power?

Yeah, a little, but not enough for you to want to go out and do it. I think the slant look is cool.

Actually on my car its slanted not for looks(even thought i think it looks good and added cleareance when lowered) but i had no other options, the only way the custom pipe would have fit would be to have it come out the middle, i could have run it over the axel but not the smartest idea, so that gave me a slant.

My neighbors WRX has an exhaust like that but on much more of an angle I can see the entire side of the muffler to where the actual tip was on the left of the car

slanting is just what they said above...for a move straight pipe exhaust...

I wouldn't consider it rice, but I think it looks really gay

Probably just a little. But every little bit counts when tuning 4 cylinder cars right? That's why people install pullies that ad 1-2 hp... Also, not that slanting your exhaust will give you 1-2 hp. It'll probably be less than 1 hp but every little bit counts.
