Lately I have noticed that when driving my car, if I come to a stop and am sitting there in neutral for a while (like at a stop light) I can hear a weird noise coming from under the car. If I have my hand on the shifter I can kind of feel something when I hear the noise. I would describe the noise as a light popping noise like a wire is being plucked. I can also hear this noise sometimes after I turn my car off. This is weird to me because the engine is not running or anything. It is not the same noise that all cars make after you turn them off and you can hear the oil dripping into the oil pan. Does anyone else experience this? It is a sound that you would only hear if the radio is off and you are listening for it. Please fill me in if you know what this might be or if this is normal? I noticed it after having my car aligned.

describe the noise.
air bubbles in the coolant is a gurgling sound from behind the passanger airbag
valve chatter is like a constant clicking sound from the engine bay...
could be lots of things.

It may be your exhaust, something in the cat making the noise.

could be lots of things. I've got air bubbles in my coolant. Is there anyway to get them out without emptying all the coolant out?
I'm gonna take your little Civic. Dust it off. Turn it sideways and stick it straight up you candy A*s.

Has anyone had any problems with their stock exhaust manifold and/or three-way catalytic converter? I have a 01 GTS six speed and I think either the catalytic converter or the exhaust manifold is getting too hot because every now and then when the engine is idling I hear a popping noise that comes from the area of the car where these two items are located. My temperature gauge has a normal reading, but how accurate is the gauge. I also checked the coolant level and it fine. Could there be an air-lock in the manual tranmission (if this is even possible)? I had the fluid changed a couple months ago.
