When I drive more than 80 miles per hour, I can hear a high frequency noise coming from the front left side of my Celica. There is no noise if I drive less than 80 miles per hour. The noise seems coming from the left side of wind shield but I know there is no problem with the windshield and its well placed. This noise only happens when I drive to 80 miles per hour or faster.
The dealer people said they cannot fix any problem happen when the speed hits more than 65. angry
Does anyone have this problem before? This is a new car, frown and I have not done anything to my babe yet.
Please help

it has to be your weather stripping around your door.

The noise can get really sharp and loud. I do not think it happens to every Celica normally. I have checked the wind shield and it is fine. frown

check ur A-pillar, wiper, roof...even ur hood, see if the hood is aligened with the body.

then check your window, left rear view mirror.
im thinking it must be something sharp that cuts the wind at high speed, or something that vibrates as it contacts the wind and makes sharp sounds...

what kind of noise is it again?? does it sound like air is making it?

listen to where you think it's coming from (left, right, top)

then just inspect everything

it probably is. Mine does the same thing, and it's caused by the window glass not making a tight seal with the window after rolling it down.

Open the door, roll the window up, I hear this "thunk" telling me the window just rolled up likw 1/16" of an inch, and the sound goes away.

That noise . . . I get it too sometimes.

I've come to the conclusion that it's side wind coming across your driver's side and getting caught on the pillar for some reason.

I don't always get it, but I get it on occasion when it's particuarly windy that day

It is the weather stripping for sure. Try cleaning it really well with any type of silicon to try and soften it up. If not you probably have to get new stripping.

It's a common problem, not just with the celica. Like everyone, said, though, how often are you traveling 80+ for sustained periods of time?

I drove from Woodland Hills to Thousand Oaks on high way 101 every work day. Everyone drives around 75 -85 (although the speed limit is 65...)
The noise is annoying because I listen to news when I go to work. wtf
I guess I have to live with this problem for a long time ... cry

i had the same noise on the interstate once but now that the weather has changed its perfectly fine, i think it was just the wind friction on something but mine fixed itself, or so i think
