A 150 hp shot of NOS... KABOOM...

A turbo brings it up to 240 hp and with a 75 shot of nos it takes you (around) up to 315hp...

Hmm you want a Turbo. Supercharger will only add like 40 hp, correct me if I'm wrong. Turbo will add a lot more but its all upper-end gains. Supercharger will get more kick off the line, Turbo will feel like eek eek eek when you hit the higher RPMs.

build up the engine with all strongger and lighter parts, with lower compression, then put i BIG turbo on it, and you can say 300hp without nos.

Exactly, the celica isn't really the greatest car for "speed," although you can make them pretty damn fast...With a lot of money grin

I don't understand... If you wanted something that fast, then why didn't you buy something faster like an evo, or wrx, even a z?? confused

You just going to spend another ten grand making your car to be as fast as them anyway.

300 HP in a celica..hahahahaha

it is possible..however i GUARANTEE our stock trannys wont be able to handle that..i say 250 hp and the stock trannys are gone.

also..ever heard of traction? you might have 300 hp at the crank..but on a FWD good luck getting all that power to the ground.

if you wanted the power of a 3sgte, you should've got a celica GT-four instead. because after you swap the engine you have to also change your transmission to AWD, which is more $$. honestly..save your money and invest it..or buy a better car.

It's not all about the Horsepower. I'm my personal understanding, you can have a lower horsepower car; as long as it weighs like 10 pounds, you'll burn a lot of people. I think that's the one downfall to the Supra, it weighs too much. As for the 300 HP, i'm gonna say your best to go the forced induction route.

I think that would be the way to go on a celica (lightweight) because that is the advantage that the celica naturally has over most cars to begin with. I've seen Carbon Fiber hoods and lightweight wheels - Has anybody ever thought of Lexan (or another plastic) windows? I know there are several styles of lightweight racing seat out there. Has anybody ever done much with this?

300 HP on our FWD, front engine cars will be
1) difficult to obtain,
2) required forced induction,
3) REALLY difficult to drive because of POOR traction even with a limited slip differential.

You guys gotta remember, our car's are lightweight and front wheel drive. If you just shed some pounds, and tune the motor for some power, the car will be just as enjoyable.

A huge difference is an understatement. smile Here's a "Celica" that weighs in at under 2000 lbs. Just look at the difference 500 lbs. makes. eek

Also, look at the Brake Horsepower (BHP). I knew our power plants were underrated. I just didn't believe that our drivetrain was that efficient.

0 to 60 in 4.9 seconds
Quarter Mile in 13.1 seconds
Lateral Grip 1.0 G
0 to 100 in 12.6 seconds
Top Speed 141 mph
Fuel Economy 30-35mpg

That kind of performance with a stock celica engine! We definately need some weight reduction projects!

yea we do. ive decided that im not going the FI route. im going to do all the bolt ons that there are, then the name of the game is weight reduction. lexan rear window, lexan sunroof with removed motor, Carbon Fiber hood, lightweight 16'' rims, Carbon Fiber seats, and the list goes on

the apr gt300 celica runs about about 300 horses.

it uses the stock gts engine and stock tranny.

add a blitz supercharger and a few extra goodies and your set. for more information on this car, i'd link to http://www.importtuner.com/features/0305it_gt300celica/index.html thumbsup

It would also be in your best interest to possibly convert it to a FR car. Hell, if I had the money, I would just buy the Lotus. They are kinda cheap compared to some cars out there. Not to mention what you could make it do with a few bolt-ons, and some weight reductions. I'm sure that you could make that thing weigh at least 100 lbs. less if ya tried.

a GTS fuel rale, pistons, and things like that would work, but a celica gTS intake, headers, adn exhasut and those things woulnt work

Build the rest of your engine up. Get stiffer valve springs and forge your block and crank to heavier standards. Then get some Darkin sleeves if they make them, then check Toda for some cams for the 2ZZ-CE.Get some timer pulleys from AEM and overlap the valve timing ever so slighty.Check your Air/Fuel ratio, then retime your ECU to the new cams profiles. A high displacement fuel pump and larger injectors would cover all fuel delivery issues. Wrap the intake and exhaust manifold. Clean everything up with a port polish to clear up all the debris of combustion.NA power is the way to go if you want power though the entire powerband. With that set up, you could easily break 300 hp.

hey bro...go with a 3sGTE go to www.topendmotorsports.com [topendmotorsports.com] and look under the JDM engine sections...they have them with AWD or RWD trannys for around $2,000 (and they are re-built to OEM spec) a buddy of mine bought an SR20 motor from them and is putting it in his NIssan 200sx (gonna be crazy fast)...its just the install that's gonna run you crazy...the 3sGTE doesn't just bolt in on our motor mounts, so it would run you a little to do that, but it isn't impossible...and you'll end up being able to mod the all holy out of the engine...its really easy to hit over 400 hp with that engine because it came with high end internals
