why would you want to repaint a carbon fiber hood? You can't repaint it, you couldn't even paint it, it's Carbon Fiber.

don't like the carbon fiber look? i didn't like it to begin with...but it grew on me.
the purpose of a carbon fiber hood, besides looks, is that it is very light. painting overtop of it would add more weight. so the price you pay for the hood itself, and then painting it, would be futile in my opinon.

yea, so if you paint over the Carbon Fiber hood, then it just covers the Carbon Fiber????? Do people do that just to reduce weight cause the stock hood is so heavy compared to Carbon Fiber hoods?

you have a carbon fiber hood. its much lighter than the stock hood. people buy the carbon fiber hood for the looks, and the reduction in weight. so its all good.

you have a carbon fiber hood. you don't like the look of it, so you decide to paint over it. not sure, but i believe at least 3 coats of paint is needed. the paint probably won't add the weight to the carbon fiber hood equalling the stock hood, but it will significantly add weight which thus renders the carbon fiber hood pointless...imo. wtf
