MAN IM LIVING A NIGHTMARE RIGHT NOW.

PLEASE BEAR WITH ME AND READ EVERYTHING I KNO ITS LONG BUT I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF SOME ADVICE AND HELP!!! PLEEZ.

here is the deal, well i went to get my car washed today, and wen i got there i told the guy not to have the jets come underneat the car due to my neons and the fact that my CAI does not have a bypass valve. well he said ok ok and gave me all this other bull and basically assured me it was going to be ok. then after that i paid for it and sat down outside on a chair waiting, my car came out about 5-6 mins later, now i dont kno if they did spray the jets underneat because i wasnt watching it. well they finished then i went home, parked and turned off the car in the garage and vacuumed it a bit more. when i was done i tried turning it on but the car was struggling, and then i thought o great i left the lites on, then i see that theyre off, and so are all of my neons. i tried again same thing, 3rd time same, then the 4th time it struggles a bit then comes on. im like wtf, then i rev it a bit an turn it off, try again and it struggles once, then the 2nd time it comes on. after it is on this time i let it idle for about 3 mins and rev it a bit more, then i turn it off. This time, i turn it on and it comes on w/o any problem, i let it idle now for about 15 mins almost, then i go back and try, this time it struggles for about 1 second then turns on, i tried it about 4 times and of the of the 4 times, it turned once perfectly, the other 3 times struggled not too hard but it did for about a second. it is as of now outside in the sun with the hood open completely drying up. i checked the CAI and its filter to see if they were wet, just some dry spots on the piping and the filter was dry, so im not sure whats wrong. SOMEBODY PLEEZ HELP ME!! tell me if my car is going to be ok, what i should do i just need some input rite now! that f**ker at the wash said everything would be fine too, that damn son of a b*tch, this has NEVER happened before, EVER. please guys i need all of ur input, im really really tripping out right now...ANY and all input will be greatly appreciated, HELP!!

my verdit is...

your tuning your car off & on too much. theres no better way to drain your battery than to do that (your battery rechargers from letting your car run over a period of time so turning your car off/on a lot means your batter is not recharging itself).

i don't know why it would struggle initially but i doubt it has anything to do with your cai. could be you left your neons on (would drain your batter) but it doesnt have to be that.

Sounds to me like they didn't listen to you, and did everything you told them NOT to do thumbsdown

I'd be tempted to go back, and tell them what happened, but good luck getting anything out of them frown

this is why the celica should come with a voltmeter (just like any halfway decent car but toyota just decides to half-ass itself on so many things...)

thataway you could just turn your key a bit (not start your car--just to where you could hear your radio, etc.). if your voltmeter showed a normal current then you would know that it wasnt your neons or turning you car off/on too much and that would leave the car wash place as the guilty party.

just one of my many complaints about toyota.

well, it has happened to me before (the celica doesnt have teh best battery to begin with).

the only thing is i don't know why it would have trouble starting up the first couople of times. it should start fine for at least 5 times before the battery was finally running low on power. maybe the car wash people turning your car on/off a few times in succession to move your car to another station? (common at most car washes).

in any case it definately does NOT sound like hydrolock, which is really the only problem you could be having with your cai. and your CEL did not turn on, correct? if not, then that pretty much leaves me to beleive what i said earlier--that your battery is just running low on power. next time you take your car out, just make sure you run it for over 5 min and you should be fine (so it can recharge some)
