hey guys,

i just got my GTS and so my modded GT went to the dealer. at first they wouldn't give my parts back but after some discussion they agreed and have taken all the stuff i put in , one of them my trd shock and spring combo.

now my question is this. should i keep my trd springs? i mean i didn't get the springs for looks and since the trd springs are progressive then i figured i'd just get trd sways instead since they offer better gains on the corners. what do you guys think...? sell the springs and use the moey to help me get the sways or wait it out and get the sways later? confused

hmmmm...why would i keep the springs? just humor me. i mean if i want Performance i should get linear spings right? like hotchkis...why keep the progressive springs other than ride comfort and looks? just wondering...steer me in the right pace guys thumbsup

just my $.02...

i'd sell the springs and then get hotchkis, tein, or eibach springs (linear).

the $$ you sell your springs for will help offset the cost thumbsup

sways compliment a spring/strut or coilover suspension. you need the lower center of gravity to benefit from Performance sways.

ditto.

also, lowering springs (even without sways) do help cornering tremedously because as jaimejames said...it lowers your center of gravity making your car more versatile in curves thumbsup

unless your talkin about eibach coilovers the springs are not linear. and regular hotchkis springs are progressive.

for linear right now all i know of are coilovers.

Install the springs.

The car will handle better, just by virtue of the fact that you lowered the center of gravity. Plus, you don't want your new car to look like a monster truck tongue

great responses guys thumbsup...i'm really thinking about this because the dealer just gave me my trd spring and shock combo yesterday along with my aem pulley and trd rear strut bar...yes i realise the springs lower center of gravity...ust seeing that i get more cornering benifit from sways...hmmmm...

how do you like that lift, ct?

A little better than a GT auto, huh? wink

lift is great guys...at that moment ...till you go to the gas station and have to pay 2.40/gal...lol rofl. i get 24mpg and spent almost 30 bucks per fill up. but aside the gas prices...i love it, scared the piss out of me when it engaged the first time because the needle totally jumps from 6K to 8k+ in a second!!...lol rofl thumbsup

very very little. most of the 40 extra bhp in the celica gts is made after the 6rpm mark, so the engines basically push the same until you hit 'lift' in a gts.
