it's incase your filter is submerged in water, this prevents hydrolock

it's incase your filter is submerged in water, this prevents hydrolock when and if your Intake gets submerged in water, the air will get sucked in through this vavle rather then through the Intake and suck up the water, but it lose overall Performance, not alot, but enough not to need it, just dont submerge your Intake, dont go through big puddles, use common sense

washing your car wont harm the filter, it's only when it's raining and you have to cross a road that's flooded, deep enough for the filter to get submerged 'cuz the filter is by the wheel well

no not washing ur engine. they mean like ur driving and their is a huge puddle in the middle of the road. you drive over it causing the water to go everywhere underneith ur car. the water hits the filter of ur Intake and since this is how ur engine breaths, it takes a deep breath in and sucks all that water that is on ur filter. you might not think that that is all bad but it is. when the water hits ur engine it decreaces Performance by making hot spots in your engine due to it evaporating. the bypass value makes it so only air goes into your engine

if it aint RMM, INJEN, or AEM, then don't bother. don't go for the cheap bargains. i'd rather pay for the gains rather than go cheap for something that might break down on you. i had a friend who bought one of those non-name Intakes off ebay. all it came with was a tube and a filter and one clamp. the clamp didn't even stay on for that long. shop around. here are two sites. enjoy. www.optauto.com [ optauto.com] www.modacar.com [ modacar.com]
INJEN for your engine.

I'd Go with Injen, and as said above .. it's worth the extra cash invested in genuine parts, you want to get the most gain out of your cash. I had the same problem on ebay with my tail lights ... took him over a month to ship them to me and they showed up scratched. (for a $150 bucks he could have atleast sent them in good condition) I was pissed! But there's a few bad apples here and there .. for the most part ebay has had awesome results for me. Good Luck!

Thanks 4 all the help. But now Im thinking about lowering my car. I was confused if I should either get the drop or the Intake. But I think im going for the drop. Dose anyone know some springs that drop the car like only 1.2" or less?

Save yourself the money and don't buy a bypass valve, unless you are a dumbass and like to submerge the front end of your car in lakes and rivers.

thats where I got my Injen Intake and exhaust but I had a lot of troubles with their customer service. I will never buy from them again. Buy your Intake at the Ecelicastore. You wont run into any problems with Isaac, hes great
