ok I'm WAY too busy and tired to post the vids and pics and dyno sheets. SO, basically DS*R members representing were...

Me - Mike
Illusive - Jason
Smaay - Jeff
gnes100 - Levi

over all it went real well. and NO I do NOT have a freak motor wink

166 whp
120 wtq

AEM CAI, no muffler, Stock ECU

==================================

171 whp
125 wtq

AEM CAI, No Muffler, Power FC generic tuning

there's definitely a lot more room for gains by tuning.

nice, do you have the 1st gen or 2nd gen aem cai? 166whp (although there was no muffler so backpressure is reduced) with a cai is excellent. thumbsup

also, what was the temperature (roughly) that day, i'm interested cause if you have the 2nd gen cai, this will be the first time i've viewed dyno results of it.

I put down as much torque as you grin.

But about 30 less horsepower.

My lugnuts require more torque than my Honda produces.

I have been keeping check on this for some time. The gains are terrific, so it seems. I want to know about the disadvantages of normal driving with the Power FC, if any. How did they crack Toyota's box? I'm sure Toyota will be more into Monkey Wrench Racing than Lotus, into extracting more reliable power. I know this is legit all around, but an Intake givining those gains + Power FC and Toyota doesn't even know how? Where's the catch? Along with the other mods included. I'm not sceptical. I just want to know how they were able to do it and is it safe for normal driving without premature wear to my engine.

it was between 80 - 85 degrees and we had just driven for almost 2 hours at 90 or more mph.

heres the graphs

went to 8600 rpms

and the car makes power all the way to 8600 rpms

its making more power at 8600 rpms than at 6700 rpms.

i'm going to get retuned as im running waaaaay to rich, and i'll post my nubers next week when i get retuned.

i'm hoping for about 180whp with the headder & tuning

get rid of the rev limiter...get that car to 9000rpm...i bet at 9000rpm our lift still kicks harder than at 6500rpm.

I wouldnt risk takin it to 9k without new valves and springs. the curve is starting to drop at 8600. with more tuning and springs/valves I bet 9k would still have plenty of power.

I bet with 100 octane and tuning I could get around 180 whp too wink lol

^^ on a side note the S/C gts put down 210 whp at 8600 rpms. his dyno sheet was crazy. it never toped out. I bet it would continue to pull until 10K rpms.

wow~ time to get some bolt-ons for the engine~
that way 10k rpm is a no-biggy~ i believe our engine can handle that rpm~

that's the blitz supercharger correct? those are impressive gains and the fact that the dyno didnt show the gains topping out is even better to hear.

you're tranny can only spin so fast though...something's gotta give before you get to 10 rpms.

agreed.

the tranny usually goes on these cars first.

then the oil pump,

then valve float

then piston into valve,

then kaboom.

Disadvantages are that you are gonna be going through a tank of gas faster...read on.

Toyota knows how, the A'pexi tuning is dumping more fuel in, the fuel maps toyota has in the stock ecu are lean.

i've been reading good things about the Apexi power FC...and it has good gains...shouldn't i/h/e and this computer have our cars hp up to around 190-200 whp now and N/A mid 13s?? Plus our 2zz engine of the gts is now in the new lotus correct? therefore shouldn't more things be comming ...i hear pistons and cams...Also glad to see that blitz supercharger is doing well...no1 has really perfected Turbos for our car yet tho...
