I recently saw Veilsides original Celica body kit on a silver Celica in the flesh and it blew me away. Parked next to my car it looked like a supercar and my first instinct was to put my hand in my pocket and order the kit.

But how does it compare in the flesh to the APR kit. APR now have a supplier in the UK, but its unlikely i'll be able to see a car in the flesh with the kit on. So I don't know how looks and more importantly the quality compares. Veilside has obviously built up a solid reputation, while I know very little about APR.

Has anyone got the APR kit on their car so I could see pictures? APR's promotional pictures are a bit OTT with all the graphics and stuff. Also my cars dark blue, so this is the closest I've got to it so far using Photoshop.

Please flood your opinions this way.

APR is a widebody kit and is completely on another level than the VS kit.

expect to pay about 7 grand for the kit and proper install.

VS2, it's new, so not that many people have it, plus it's Japanese.

I've heard of people who bought APR and when they received, the parts were not high quality, some were flimsy and ready to break, eventhough the box that they came in was in good shape w/no visible damage idunno

Wow... that photoshop of the Red GT-300 was awesome. Took me back for a second. I couldn't figure out who's it was until I started looking closer.

Oh I'm the owner of the yellow GT-300 that was featured on Max Power this month. The one thing you gotta make sure of is that you have enough funds to do the APR kit. I have sat down with guys at APR and we have estimated that even if you get everything at wholesale price, it will cost anyone who wants to do this kit over $10,000. Plus it doesn't help that you are abroad.

Oh here's the begining of my feature:

Widebody is good if your sponsored. Otherwise, I would never buy it. Too expensive. Go with the VS2. Its my favorite body kit for the Celica.

I think I prefer the VS1 kit though. I know what you're saying about the APR kit. Plus anyone who i get to fit the kit will not have done it before so I can't guarantee a good finish. The Veilside kit I saw belonged to the owner of the tuning/bodyshop so I know how the quality of the finish is going to be. He said he could get the kit for me for 1300 and come to some sort of arrangement over the fitting.

Even if I go for the Veilside kit I'll probably be one of the few who owns it in this country. The Celicas not really a young persons car, so even though you do see them round, they'll always be completely standard.

Keep the information coming though

Any pictures of the VS2 kit in dark blue, lowered on 18s would be appreciated. I know Veilsides one is dark blue, but I also know the VS1 kit looked completely different in real life.

I just looked at a yellow wide body kit on APRs site. I'm not convinced it looks all that great at the moment. My photoshop job at the top does look awesome though.

After install and all on the APR kit, it will be really expensive and seems like it wouldn't be too practical for daily driving. The Veilside 1 is an awesome kit and was my favorite until the Veilside 2 came out. I would definitely go with the Veilside 1 kit instead of the APR for practicality and expense wise. thumbsup

Thanks for all the advice guys. I swayed towards the VS1 kit over the APR, only now its a choice between VS1 and VS2. Could really use some pictures.

No real limit on spending within reason. But I bought the car new so I don't really want to spend more than 5 or 6 grand (pounds that is, i'm guessing around 7 to $8000). Theres quite a hefty rise in insurance which I also have to consider.

Since ur in the UK it really depends on what you think looks better. Not very many people will have either kit there. If you were here I would say Veilside 2 since a lot people have the Veilside 1.
