Are there any posts concerning a head unit install, rear speaker install, and front speaker install. Also, I wanted to know if you could just replace the 6.5" speaker up front and not the tweeter. Hit me back. BTW, I have the six speaker setup not eight.

i'm in the middle of putting a pioneer headunit in (i finish up tonight)...all i can say it that it SUCKS. i go to autozone for a wiring harness--wrong one. so i go to mobile one, thinking that they know what they are doing (since they're an audio shop to begin with)--wrong harness. so now we're gonna splice i think. the factory amp is a problem to go around... angry

Ok well I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. I just need a tutorial, those i nthe Installs section are just pictures. I need to see what bolt/screws or whatever need to be taken out and whatever else needs to be done in a step by step. Also, can the factory amp be taken out and replaced or removed completely?

Ok. I'm just gonna show audiofreak a quick pic on how to get started with the removal. I'm not actually gonna remove my stereo. hey speedfortheneed any audio shop has the harness. I can't believe they can't give you the right one!
Anyway I'll be back in a few.

Theres a factory amp behind the glove box in the GTS models, the harness's you buy are not the wrong ones, they fit the wires that plug into the factory amp. So this means you gotta by pass the amp, its a bit tedious cause then you gotta wire it back into the center console. Hope that helps you out though

did you have to splice any wires whatsoever? that's all i want to know. we can't get the right harness so we're thinking about splicing (which i don't necessarily want to do..but i need to do something because my stock cd player is on the fritz)

so i have to bypass the amp? i can't go through the amp itself?

There may be a harness, i read it on another forum, i think its called: Scosche TA-03 and its made to use with the factory amp and has both RCA's for preamp output and the blue box for line level conversion. But im not too sure, for my face i just pulled out the glovebox and disconnected teh amp, using the harness that you probably have

I think gtstick is right...u might have the right harness. The harness shoudd have 2 connectors, One for power & front speakers, the other for rear speakers & a bunch of wires. No splicing required.

Well audiofreak I'm not sure if this is what you need but here is how you get to the radio...start by pulling off this piece, be careful because the lighter is connected to it...

Then remove all the knobs on the ac panel. There's gonna be a screw behind each of the bigger knobs & a couple more screws under those which holds the console. After you remove those screws you can start pulling the console off from the bottom upwards. Be careful because the clock is connected to this piece. Hope this is useful.

Haha I know the color scheme is off...but the middle finger ring is a reminder of my father that passed away.
