I jsut got back from a Toyota Service center here (at the dealership) b/c whenever i put on my brakes there is a repetative squeaking noise coming from the front right. Well this happened b4 and i took it in and they said it was some coil or something that was sticking out when i put on the brakes and it was rubbing so i was hearing that. So i figured i'd take it in and it'd be the same thing and they would fix it. Well, i sit there for 2 friggin hours just for him to tell me it's b/c of some rust and i would just have to deal wiht it. THAT MAKES NO SENSE! He said some celi's prolly do that but not enough ppl complain for toyota to do anything about it. He said it's b/c of the type of set-up we have with the rotors and shit. So, does anyone else have this "noise"? Mine is extremely loud and i will take it back until they fix it. I'm not going to drive this nice car around to have this loud ass noise everytime i stop...

When my brakes were making a noise it was because they needed to be replaced. I know the noise just gets to you. I agree with you, just keep taking it back until you get it fixed.

stock rotors/pads?
the squeaking could be a pad indicator, or rust on the rotor trapped between the pad, causing a groove to get formed, thus making it squeak.
If you get kevlar/ceramic pads, be prepared to deal with it, they squeak!

yea, it's stock everything. it's not liek a squeak. i know that some breaks will squeak. this is a repetative noise. for exaple, say you stuck a card in a bicycle and pedal..u get that chh..chh...chh..chh sound everytime it hits. not a constant noise. this is how this is but it's EXTREMELY loud. they fixed it once b4 but all of a sudden this time they can't?

I had the same problem, only it was both of my front brakes. It was the most ghetto sound. I knew that my pads were brand new because the car dealership that I had bought the car used from had tried 3 different pads to fix the "problem". After living with the loud horrendous sound for about 2.5 months I finally took my car to a Toyota specialist that came highly recommended (NOT the dealership). They told me that I had no anti-squeal greese on my pad and I just had the wrong pads to begin with (they were too small for the caliper thus moving around and making the scraping/rap-rap sound?) . Anyways, long story short... they hooked me up with TRD pads and gunked this blue stuff all over the back of the pads and now they are just great and have been for over a month. All for around $90, screw the dealership!

yes, you need to make sure you have the shims installed, and the grease
