I just got this wing, I swore someone else on this board has it too. Were there any fitment issues? The mounting holes on mine are off by like a half inch, and no holes were drilled for the stock nibs to fit. It would be great if I didn't have to take it to the shop. Any tips on installing one of these wings? I guess that's what I get for ordering anything from importfan. Fuckers should at least sell products that fit! That's the last time I buy anything from those guys.

Thanks,

Co(V)(V)union

You can drill the holes in the wing for the nipples on your trunk. Just use a drill bit stopper.

The problem is that the mounting holes are off by like a half inch. They are molded and threaded internally on the wing. It seems fucked up that they show these products on their site mounted on 7th gen celicas, and the fit is off that bad. I would have to drill a hole right next to the current one on the trunk to get it to fit right. WTF???

you're gonna have to bondo the old holes and drill new ones if you want it to look good...

the good side = bondo is easy to do, and should only take a few hours

the bad side = you have to repaint over it.

didn't you read the post we had a couple of weeks ago on importfan.com? or did you place your order before the post was made? It sucks that a bodyshop is gonna have to do it

hey hey i had this same exact problem with my apr wing, i was like wtf is this?!?!? so i went back out the the garage, and figured out that the adjustable legs needed to be like adjusted, you know what i mean. like you screw the things on the backs of the legs so it tilts up higher, and since the legs are mounted at a slight angle the come farter apart the more you screw that thing. hope thats the solution to your problem. good luck

It's not that kind of wing. It is a single piece of carbon fiber. Not adjustable. frown Yeah my order was placed before I read the horror stories about GTP and importfan.com, I guess I'll just have to take it to the shop. Any ideas on how much it should cost to have it installed?

Here's a link to the wing I'm talking about:

Thanks for the ideas,
