confusedSomeone mentioned that a 3gste swap isn't allowed in CA?? They said its due to not being able to put in an old engine into a newer car?? That doesn't make sense?? confused So it costs about $23,500.00 [suprastore.com]

well for one, in california, if you're going to do a motor swap in say a 2000 celica, you need to find a motor that was made in 2000 to present day. The motor's age cannot exceed the age of the car.

At $23,500.00, there is no way in hell that is a stock 3SGTE. I've seen them go for as little as 2500-3000. For 24K, it must be fully modded. 700hp? Look at the pic, speaks a 1000 words.

ha now i know why you can't put in an older engine...after searching more on the 3gste in the forums... ...ahh well one said..

"well frist off you can't put in a older motor in a newer car (smog) so you would have to put in a k20 why not just do a F16 swap that will give you some real power gains
ps. stay with the toyota yamaha motor and Turbo you save money and you won't be laughted at " spineyes
