need to get some paintwork done on the front bumper cover of my 2000 GTS, like the looks of the 2003/04 covers. Will this cover fit on my 2000 without any modifications?

looking for definite answers, not *maybe* smile

Thanks for the response!

I'm thinking he means the actual front bumper. Nothing else would make sense.

His is prolly f00ked and he may like 04 style better. I certainly do.

Why go from a stock front bumper to a TRD bumper? Because it looks better.

And the bumper is kind of a "cover" considering it has little structural integrity. It will fit on your car, but you obviously have to take the old one off.

if he is talking about a 'bra' being a 'bumper cover' then no and yes. it will definately fit, but it will definatley not fit correctly.

if he is talking about an '03 or '04 front fascia (bumper) fitting an '00-'02 car, it will definately fit.

OK. So then the front bumper cover is actually the front bumper. Right?

not that i care about why someone would switch from a stock bumper to a stock bumper (of which i must say i don't get the point, but anyway)...but comparing stock bumpers to a body kit bumper is not adequate.

switching from an '00 bumper to an '03 bumper is not the same as switching to a trd bumper. the trd bumper is more a 'bodykit' while the others obviously are 'stock'--not the same thing.

don't know, thats why i answered both thumbsup

when it doubt--list the most plausible explanations...in this case, i would say he's either talking about a 'bra' or the actual front fascias.

much easier just to answer both at one time than to ask a few questions then give one of the same answers, imo.

I don't understand what is so hard to understand about the term "bumper cover." For the uninitiated, the bumper of the car is comprised of a few different parts of foam, and metal bolted to the car's frame. It isn't just a single piece of plastic that looks pretty. That plastic portion isn't practical at all for any level of impact which a "bumper" should be rated for. I think bumpers are rated for like 5-10mph impacts hence its name "bumper" meaning it protects the car's frame from minor bumps. Well, that plastic part crunches easily and won't protect your car frame from anything, thus it is not actually a bumper. Because that plastic part looks pretty and covers up the ugly looking practical parts like the foam, and metal bolted to the front of the celica it is called a..... wait for it....... a bumper COVER, because it COVERS the actual bumper parts that protect the car.

So, now that I've made that perfectly pellucid, could we please answer the man's question? I would, but I'm here looking for the same answer. I have had my Celica for 20 years. I think the American made bumper cover after market kits look like absolute trash (personal preference, no judgement on everyone else's tastes here) And after 20 years I would like to update the look of my car as well, and since I can't get ahold of the lambo style bumper cover I want, the next best one I've seen is the 2004 stock bumper cover which is a slightly updated more modernized look than the original 2000, but still looks conservative. So.... Who the heck cares WHY we would want to go from a stock bumper to another stock bumper. Would someone please just answer the question of... will the stock 2004 bumper bolt to the 2000 frame? Thank you.
