for $2100 (canadian, not sure US should be like $1500), panasonic makes a replacement head unit that has a screen that pops up (it's automatic, has tilt adjustments, looks very cool).. it's the same size as a stock head unit, plays DVDs VCDs CDs and MP3s... I was looking at them this weekend, they are pretty nice, and you don't need to do any custom work, it just fits right where your stereo head unit is right now.

Oh, the nostalgia, Isaac. That's awesome.

I have an Eclipse head unit/video display, that's motorized (goes into the dash) for sale, if anyone's interested. I had my PS2 hooked up to it for DVDs, plus games. It comes with an 8 disc CD changer, also for $600 plus shipping. Shoot me a PM or email at utkdawg@yahoo.com .

I've always said, if your gonna do it, do it right. I like things that look like they came w/ the car and not stick out like a sore thumb...

Maybe door is a better word...it has the giant toyota logo on it.

You said it should look like it belongs, and nowhere else on the celica is there a logo of that size grin

OH, haha no...that's custom done in my Carbon Fiber Dash kit. It matches really well w/ my custom Carbon Fiber a/c vents, gauge cluster and passenger airbag. The gove box is painted black for now, but that's till I find enough Carbon Fiber to mold it.

Any stereo shop should be able to do it. It's really not too difficult to do. Just making trim to fit it properly would be the worst part. I'm paying $150 for that install and my head unit is going to be relocated to the storage area in the center console.

Moving it up isn't gonna happen man, I tried to put it there first. But, there is a bar that runs all the way across your dash and the bin isn't deep enough for the HU. If you cut it out, the bar will still be in the way

Thanks for the heads up, I knew it was there, but I figured it would be deep enough.
