Has anyone installed a CD changer under either their driver or passenger seat? I'm looking at a 6-CD changer that is apparently 2.8" high (including the mounting brackets), and I'm wondering if that will fit under either my driver's side or passenger's side seat.

Any experiences out there with the clearance under the seats? Would it get too warm under there for a CD changer, or is that really only important for amps?

If you've done it, how hard is it? Will I need to remove the seat in order to get under there to mount it to the floor?

Thanks for any advice!

I don't believe it will fit under our seats. We don't have a lot of clearence especially when you start moving the seat around.

To find out try to find a box with the same dimensions and place it under you seat to see what happens.

I doubt it will fit.

You won't be able to access the CD changer. You'd have better luck mounting it in your arm rest, easy access and still hidden.

i have a 10 changer in our 71' suburban that im going to rip off and put in the celica, in the suburban it is under the passenger seat, cause there's a huge drop out under the seat, now in the celica, under the seats is a no-no, does anyone know about whats under the rear seats, aka the area behind where you place your feet. Is that an open area? or is it filled with electronics and other stuff to make the car work?? im thinking i can cram a lot of shit besides weed in there, what about some subs or amps, or just some nos bottles for with some neons and plexi-glass, any ideas? anyone break into there b4?? holla!!
