I was looking into going with a coilover setup. I think i have it narrowed down to, Tein SS % Tanabe Pro S-S. What would you guys go for. They seem to be about the same price but the Tanabe comes with "pillow mounts" and the Teins don't.

If anyone has either of these let me know how you feel abou them. Or if you have something else that is comparable in $1200 price range that you like let me know.

Thanks.

i read that the tein edfc has issues with installation. someone had to make modifications to make it fit. so, unless you're decent at fabrications the edfc may be a problem.

also, doesn't the tanabe have easier rear damper adjustability than the tein (which you have to get to by removing the trunk plastics)?

I went with Tanabe & definetely get the front pillow mounts. It makes it a lot easier to get an alignment if you plan to drop the front all the way, like I did.

They have the Tanabe coil overs for $1200+ & that's the lowest I've seen them anywhere. If you want to spend even less, then you can go with the Tanabe Susctec Pro II.

The II doesn't have a helper spring, so the responce wont be as accurate as the SS. But it's still better than springs. It's kind of like comparing it to Tein's Basic, it's the entry level coilover from Tanabe, but unlike Basic, you can adjust the dampening on the II.

Go with the II if you're on a budget and you don't care too much about Performance. Go with the SS if you want all out Performance. The II also has front pillow mounts available too.

If looking into Tein go with the SSP which includes pillowball mounts and has spring rates of 392 lbs/in front and 504 lbs/in rear compared to the SS with 280 and 392. All of this added goodness for only around $100 more than the SS (around 1250 shipped). The upper mounts might also make the car stiffer. Tanabe also makes some nice coilovers as was previously said.

As i said above you would need to get

the EDFC which cost around $300 and you could

adjust the dampers within your car ... though

some people have said it wasnt an easy install
