I'm all over the place lately. But since this is a thread specifically about shocks I'm curious.

What could you get away with in terms of replacing shocks and having lowering springs added? Whole new shocks, just shock or strut boots, just struts or both new shock & struts?

You guys said KYB AGX shocks will be fine, soo this piece [Linked Image from 7453217467431.com]
and I presume I'd need four of them, each properly suited to front and rear right?

And could I just use that part with springs and it would be safe, as in no shocks blowing or strut problems?

you can do just springs (not recommended but it will work until your shocks wear out)

if you get shocks..then struts are also recommended. most shocks come packaged with struts, though. thumbsup

case in point..you can buy eibach sportlines...and then get a kyb agx adjustable shock/strut package

Alrighty. But I suppose the KYB AGX shock doesn't come with a strut unless it specifies hey? And I know the strut is extremely important, but lets say I just bought the KYB AGX shocks, some Eibach sportline springs and used the stock struts.. would that be just as safe as buying all that plus new struts? So I'm just asking if I have to buy new struts if I buy the shock absorbers and springs.

I'm also looking at Skunk 2 Racing coilovers because they are pretty reasonably priced (maybe too good to be true) and I know coil overs are adjustable, would that require new shocks/struts?

Sorry for the mass of questions, I appreciate you all giving me a hand because I want to do things right the first time and my knowledge is slowly gaining on cars this way. smile
