Both of my front turn signal bulbs blew, so I went to Autozone to find replacements.

In their computer, it said that the replacement bulb number was 1157, contrary to what this site says as 1156. Naturally, I trusted this site's info because some of the tards that work at this particular Auto Zone don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.

Anyways, I bought both the 1157 and 1156 bulbs and both did not fit. The two little protrusions on the side of the bulb did not line up correctly to the factory bulb housing. Both of the little nubs are directly across from each other on the replacement bulbs while on the factory housing, it calls that the two nubs not be directly across from each other.

Took a few trips to other places that sell bulbs, and none of them fit either.

Do I have to go to Toyota for these bullshit bulbs?

when i bought my hyper white bulbs to replace the factory orange one, it came like that too so i just sand out one of the protrusions and it works for me

Nice, thanks. It was really starting to piss me off, and I have been driving around for a while with rear blinkers that will give people behind me seizures.

So why are the factory bulbs made like this? Just so people will have to go to Toyota for replacements?

It is 1156 for sure. just sand out the extra prong.

Okay, but there isn't really an extra prong, both of them just don't line up the way they should with the factory housing.

Sanding out one of them won't affect the way the bulb secures itself in the housing will it, because the bulb has to be twisted in, and it is suspended with those two prongs.

So I guess this is just an issue of Toyota being really gay, and having us buy replacements from them only.

Thanks for the help guys.

You don't even have to sand or grind down the other nub. Put the first one in at an angle (the bulb at an angle) and the other nub will slide right in.
