OK, several people have asked me for the dimentions of a board to cover the area left when you take the seats out... so here it is. The other thing that I did was put a 1" x 1" piece of wood on the bottom of the front edge of the board.

How thick was the board, and did you paint it?

Also, you wouldn't happen to have the dimensions of a board that can be put where the spare used to be, do you?

Ever since I took my spare out, I havn't been able to put anything in the trunk because the flimsy piece of particle board will break.

That's like the top of my box for my subs...my subs are in my rear seats and the box is shaped like that.

I took my back seat out and tried moving my box right behind the front seats, but it didn't sound nearly as good as when it was in the trunk. I suppose it's b/c the bass is more condensed in the trunk, providing a richer sound

^^ what if they pointed towards the rear still? pure bass shouldnt matter where you position your subs.

anyway, my job requires the use of my trunk...so i don't have much of a choice..just wondering how you had it set up and if the sound was really that noticeable.

i have my subs right over where the backseat was... and it sounds great... just make sure that the box doesn't block the output from the stock rear speakers, or it will sound funny.

how did you attach the board to the steel? just ordinary screws?

what kind of fabric did you put on the board?
