I'm very curious-I've seen a trend with injen Intake owners. I have one, and ppl I've talked seemed to have the same problem with their check engine light coming on after the Intake is installed. How many of you have Injen Intakes with this problem, and who has an AEM Intake with or without the problem? happywink

I had an Injen SR and the mounting bracket got ripped right out of the Intake tube. So yea i got a CEL. For SR i recommend a blitz and for CAI i recommend AEM.

I have an Injen short ram and never had the CEL come on.
It helps to diconnect the bettery when you are doing the install and also right before you finish clean the MAF sensor. And do a quick double check to make sure that everything is connected right and there are no leaks.

I'm gonna take your little Civic. Dust it off. Turn it sideways and stick it straight up you candy A*s.

Make sure all hoses are plugged. When I installed my K&N Typhoon CAI, I did everything according to the instructions, but I still got a CEL. I plugged up the unused hoses and it hasn't come back on.

Regardless of which brand of CAI or SRI you decide to go with, you won't get a CEL if the install is done correctly.

not really... even if install is done exactly as specified, one could forget to break it in or have a dirty mafs.

- case in point - I had no cel initially, but now it comes on periodically. I'm trying to drive easy on it now for a couple weeks and then try going full throttle to see if it'll be ok. If it comes back I'll clean the maf sensor. If that fails I might have to do some cutting...

Hi!

I have Injen SRI. Had my first CEL after about 1 month, cleaned MAF, came back after 1 month, just disconnected battery this time, haven't had it now for about 2 months.

K&N Shortram, no problems at all..

Hook up a vacum gauge and check for leaks, or pull the code from the ECU.

I have an Injen CAI from years ago. I threw 2 Cels in the course of myself owning that CAI. They were all fixed by cleaning the MAFS and resetting the ECU. The CAI install, by a bunch of bananna eating primates, was great. The MAFS got some gunk on it during a period of time due to the K&N or any high flow filter make or design that one day threw the CEL. I switched filters because I was too lazy to clean mine and wait at the time so I purchased a dry filter with an open end funnel type (the only one I could get). I recently threw a CEL with that and cleaned the MAFS, reset the ECU, and all gone. I also passed NJ emissions with the new filter, so don't believe that getting a new filter will make you lose the carb exempt and fail for emissions according to Injen. I also never had or have any hesitation or bogging ever due to my CAI with the K&N or the "other" filter installed.
