HI all first off if i'm posting in the wrong forum I apologize. And my problem is my antennae broke off down in the threads where the antennae itself screws into, I guess it's the antennae mast. The part that is actually anchored in the trunk part of the car. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a whole new antennae at? I am wanting to put an s2000 in it but like I said the antennae is broke off down in the threads and it's rather small and I don't know exactly to "back" the broken piece out or should I just get a whole new antennae assembly. Thanks all and once again if i'm in the wrong forum I apologize. thanks all

Where it broke off, is it hollow? or is it just the solid screw part that's left?

it's the solid screw part. and I would say that it's down inside the part where it screws in by about 1/8 or maybe 1.4 of an inch. So I'm totally at a loss. Thanks

no prob, you need whats called a screw extractor. It is a bit that attaches to your power drill... you have a power drill dontcha? borrow one if yah don't. This ought to tell you how to use the screw extractor. Might save you a lot of time and money. http://www.bluepoof.com/motorcycles/howto/screw_extractor/

also, if you break the extractor bit (very unlikely) you'll have to either have it burned out or replace the whole assembly, which is what you're looking at doing now.

Good luck

I thought about using something like that but I don't know if you've looked at the actual "post" I guess is what it's called but it isn't all that large. I will have to find something like 1/16th or something that small. But I do appreciate the feedback all. Thanks once again.

most screws aren't that large either, they do make them in that size, just check around.

the s2000 antenna's screw part is a lot shorter than the stock celica's. you might be able to just screw it in while leaving the other part in. i would assume the sound quality wouldnt be affected, but i have no real idea :-P

That's a thought. I never really thought of that. I might have to try that out. I mean since i'm going to get me an s2000 anyways. I just didn't know how deep it might of been. But thanks for that idea.

Bolt extracters are NO PROBLEM, just get the smallest one you can find. I used it on my lift bolts when they broke. You will save a tremedous amount of money if you do this.

or if you have the mast... you could super glue it to the part still screwed into the hole, then turn it to get the whole thing out... if its loose..
