I just got my MTECH lighting package today, thanks by the way isaac, and I can't get the old highbeam bulb off the connector. What the hell is going on? Am I missing something here? What's the best way to change the fog lights? Take off bumper or get at it under the car through the plastics?

install guide from Isaac..

personally I tried doing it without taking off the bumper but my hands are XL so I was having such a hard time.. i think i would have saved some time had i jsut taken off the bumper..

but once its off the rest is cake...

as for the high beam/DRL make sure to press on the tab and pull off the bulb (dont touch the glass) at the same time.. sometimes it can be tricky...

Yeah, thanks all. The tab was real stuck so I shot it up with some of my handy MAF cleaner and came right off. I'm going down the road and throw some kids $10 and some BigMacs to do the fogs. One more question. What bulb can I use for the daytime running lights to match the rest?

the highbeam bulb is the DRL..daytime running light..

the highbeam during the day is operating at 40% i believe just enough to increase visibility during the day..

so if you changed your high beam then it matches the rest of the lights and is the drl at the same time..

Wow, those kids did a grest job on the fog lights. They did it similar to Darrens install. They only used I think 1 or 2 screwdrivers, a socket wrench, and only took them about 10-15 mins. While I was there, I got a quote for clutch and flywheel install at $350 or $400-450 w/lsd. They also had a STI w/mods, a Supra, some gold S4 (I think), and a Turbo civic SI in the lot at the back of the shop. Too bad I forgot my camera.

I don't believe it is the same. I think your theory is kind of correct. There's a bulb on the side of the headlight housing that is still yellow and I believe to be the drl. I could be wrong. This gets dimmer when the lights are on, but still lights up. I just want to replace it anyways.

the little bulb you are refering to is actually part of the parking light set up with the orange sidemarkers. happywink

you can try it if you want. take the little bulb out of the housing turn on the car and you'll see the high beam housing on still..

then again i only know this for a fact on the 01' celicas' not sure if they had things different on the 00 models just like how i heard the 00 have a beeping sound when you go in reverse. wave

I'm just completely confused now. I'll worry about it some other day. I'm just waiting for it to get dark and see for myself the difference in lights. It's already obvious about the whiter color. I want to see about the brightness. Then tomorrow the new coilovers go on. I'm excited about getting my Celica back in top shape, finally.
