Has anyone thought to put Blue and Red LEDS in the AC vents? So when you have it on cold the LED's are Blue, and when it's on hot they glow Red. I don't even know if this is possible, just thought it might be cool to try and figure out! wave

I wanted to put red neons in mine to match the footwells. But i dont know if there is a way to make em glow red or blue off the temp. controls automatically. I think you would have to manually switch the red & blues on and off.

\Maybe you could do something like have a switch at each end of the hot/cold dial. When it's all the way to cold, it contacts on the LH side & lights the blue. Then it's off anywhere else but the total RH side & it lights red for hot.

For wiring I'd start in the glove box where the cabin air filter is. you must be able to snake something through from there.

You can either make it on the temp control then when you turn op the speed/lower temprature it lights up less or more but you can also make a lil circuit that it just responds to the temprature.. I have a little print like that on my watercooling system overhere.. works pretty well smile you can also put rounded neon's in dunno the diameter of the vents tough smile should check grin

Someone had put some LED in the vents... but just single colors...
But to make it simple.. just make a little 3 way switch...
Where you can switch from red or blue...
It's gona be easy to wire them to the temperature control..
It's not gona be easy to have some device to automatically switch with tempertature knob...

IMO

LED's in your vents = gay

LED's in your vents that change colors depending on temperature of your air flow = super gay

I just buy mine preassembled with wiring already attached.

If you go to a store such as Radio Shack, I'm sure that they can explain it to you in detail.

Also, check eBay, cause I know that some sellers sell them preassembled for relatively cheap.

If you buy them from a wholesale site such as Digikey.com, you will have to assemble them yourself. Just gotta find out what size of a resistor you need for the LED, and solder it on, along with the wires, and put heat shrink around the connections.

Do a search on google for determining resistor type for led's or something like that.

Actually, check this site out.

http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/components/led.htm

Your supply voltage will almost always be 12v, especially if you are hooking them up to something in your Celica.

Your VF or VL voltage will be the voltage of the LED itself.

That's why I said that it was just my opinion. If you don't like it, then I don't give a shit.

As for help, I did help someone who wanted to know what type of resistor needed to be used with LED's, so it looks like I did give some help, at least more than you brought to the table.

As for the rules on this board, I think stating your opinion is perfectly legal/welcomed, since people do it so very often, and if people don't want an opinion on whatever they decide to post about, then they shouldn't post.

Let's take a look at some of your insightful posts for the hell of it. And these are your posts, look them up if you want...

1. "Don't like the placement on that one."

2. "I hate black/grey or gunmetal rimms :S sorry" <---Very helpfull

3. "I don't get the point of buying an automatic and then complaining bout Performance... if you want power and speed go for manual.. if you're a dumb ass driver who can't shift or just to lazy to shift you get an automatic.. but you don't get an autmatic for Performance and speed :S"

I especially like that last one. A guy asks for help and you bash his car. At least I bashed something that wasn't done to a car yet.

Don't talk out of your ass at someone when you do the same shit moron. At least I bash the somewhat questionable and gay shit out there.

Simplist way would be get this from ebay..
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=20334&item=5703764965&rd=1

This has all the resistor hooked up to the LED...
Just hook it up to any 12v wiring... which most of the wiring in the Celica is 12v or more any stantard cars... ^^
It uses very low power... so you can pretty much tap it into any 12v wires...
