went to Autozone today...had them check out what my CEL was saying and i got this...

System Too Lean

i asked the guy at autozone what does that mean...he said he didnt know...so im posting this here and my OK-website...any help would be appreciative

after cleaning it, reset your ecu by unbolting and disconnecting the negative terminal on your battery for 5 minutes.

my car has the P0171 on it too-don't really know why, but I don't think it's gonna hurt anything.

I had the P0171 until i cleaned my mafs and reset my ecu, after that it disappeared. Try it jen

Your car will feel completely different after you clean the MAF. Like it has new life.

I've cleaned it twice or three times and didn't make any difference. It goes off after I clean it, then comes back on in a day or so.

Jen there are 2 spots on the MAFS you're supposed to clean, the air temp probe and the little wires in the canal. Here is the air temp probe:

Here are the crutial wires that need to be cleaned. These are the ones that are probably really dirty and what caused your check engine light P0171.

it worked...thanx steven...yea its like new...which i bought my car like this and i just thought they were like that...it helped my low end so much...it went from literally no low end to hey...its nice and the transition to lift is not hard any more...it just goes into like it should compared to night and day kickin it...but thanx for the help!!!

i don't know, i have 2001 gts and had it for about three year. i had clean the MAF, and it wasn't even dirty at all. so i dunno how your MAF gets dirty?
