i'm trying to explain to my younger brother how lift works, and he doesn't even really understand how an engine works...i know someone had on here the diagram of how lift works off of toyota.com, but i can't find it for the life of me, so if someone could help me out, that would be great b/c my diagrams only seem to confuse him more! thanks thumbsup

Basically, when the RPM reaches 6000+/- and when the oil is fully warmed up, the valves in the head open up more for more air and fuel. (Very watered down version of how it really works)
