Well got my second ticket today while under 18. I was sited for 60 in a 40, failure to present a license, and failure to use turn signals. Ohio law is a mandatory loss for 90 days with privleges to school and work. I have nobody to blame but myslef. I am an idiot what can i say. I know im gonna get through it. I mean thats part of life. But I finally realized its not worth it. What does speeding get you? NOTHING but tickets. I hope i finally learned my lesson and please learn from me. July 10th is my court date. I know whats to come. Sitting in the courts waiting room for about an hour with my dad and me feeling horrible and having him talk to me about my life plans and what im going to do to make this up. Then shuffled into a small room to try and convince a judge that i am truely sorry about my actions. Im not gonna feel sorry for myslef i brought this upon myslef but please listen to me when i say speeding is not worth it. I have driven like an asshole for about 8 months and have been ticketed two times and recieved one warning. But i have finally learned my lesson. Thanks for your time and drive safe.

Failure to present a license!? wtf You're lucky to have a dad to go with you. Unless he's very unusual, he's been there, too.

yeah man trust me, i've had 5 UNPAID traffic violations and one wreckless driving, you haven't been through it yet. I dropped just about $600 in stupididy and offensive driving. This has taught my a lesson for life, even though i drive a sports car, i will RARELY open it up now. I hope things turn out better and you've learned your lesson man.

I have been around the block a few times, with the cops, and the enforcement is variable. On some interstates you can cruise at 80 to 85 and then you run into another county and the radar traps are everyhere! Local knowledge of the cops seems to be the key. If you are in an unfamilier area, the cops have the upper hand. Adjust your speed acordingly...

Yeah It usualy takes a ticket or two for peaople to really realize their actions. Good thing you see that now .. rather then after you have your face splattered into a tree.

My Ex Bitch drove like a maniac. got to the point I wouldnt get in a car with her. SHe finally got a ticket and it slowed her down. thats the reason for tickets makes you realize things smile

The way I see it, you are not going to get anywhere in a city any faster if you speed. From light to light the guy beside you driving normally always ends up pulling up beside you again, and again, and again. Personally, if the speed limit is 50kmh, I do about 59kmh. Always under 10 over. On the highway I do speed. I go around 130 - 150kmh at times, when the speedlimit is 110. Anything 50kmh & over is a court appearance. Anything under is just a ticket. I have a radar detector. Even then I probably don't save much time. Hard lesson learned.

I went though something similar when i was around your age. write a letter to the judge, and have someone smart edit it. talk about your plans for you life, and what you have done with your life so far. basicly beg for forgiveness, but nicely. i got 3 within a year (prior to owning the celica, and haven't had once since i got it, strange, i know) and did the same thing. the judge let me pay the fine and walk.

oh - something to make you feel better - a buddy of mine at work, who is a really nice kid and not one you would expect to be a dumb ass behind a wheel had a ..."minor"... ticket problem when he was 17, get ready for this, its good:

His parents bought him a new mustang for doing so well in school, and he found out how much fun it was to drive. he got TWENTY FOUR moving violations within 6 months. everything from street racing, wreckless driving, speeding, and evading a police officer. he still doesn't have his liscense back yet, he can only drive to go to and from work and can't drive past six pm period.

Just be glad you learned your lesson after 2... im not kidding, thats a true story.

I just got through a speed contest ticket scare. Two points on an 18yr olds liscense driving a celica gts, I wouldnt be able to afford the insurance. Luckily I got it reduced to a speeding ticket. I drive a lot more sane now. I used to be the one yelling and the granny drivers, now I feel like I am the granny driver.

i learned my lesson after my 1st one.
even-though i got one more ticket after that which really wasn't my fault, the cop was asshole and caught me instead of the mini van infront of me going 10 miles faster.

learn from ur mistakes, and never make ur mistake again. at least ur admitting ur mistake and making an effort of never doing it again. even ur mistake is wrong, you now feel comfortable and confident of never making that stupid moves again

Speeding isn't the bad part, being caught is.

How is it that in VA, 81 is reckless driving, yet in Tennesse it's not, when NOTHING changes about the road, just the state.

Revenue.

Don't feel bad, the court is going to try and squeeze you so that they can make you not speed, knowing you will, so they can get more money out of you.

If cops wanted to prevent speeding, they wouldn't use undercover cars and hide in electrical truck buckets. It's all about money.

Pay them the money, slow down in areas that are <55, and keep it safe.

I speed every day spineyes
