I am replacing all of my 6.5 " speakers, but I am not sure what to look for as far as things like: 2 way or three way
how many watts
etc?

Help me out!

make sure to look at the RMS rating and not the Peak Watt rating, cause thats how they rip you off. but go for some JLs or Pioneer thumbsup thumbsup

You should look for anythin that performs great mids to highs.. you don really need the three way or the ones with the tweeters built on since our celicas got those right in the corner.. unless you dont have some confused confused

yeah man you'll definatly be thumping then, but also don't think that high watt amps are good, my friend has an escort with a badass system in it with an MTX amp at 400w...we call it the escort thunder. So don't wast your money on a high-wattage amp, only buy that if you pushing out some serious subs.

ooh man i would say 3 ways in the rear because it sounds better all around and hella loud when your driving. In my 97 camry i had the 6-speaker set up and the subs in my trunk. Had the tweeters up front and the mids and the back i had my 3-way 6x9's and the shit sounded hella sweet! grin

So I should power my 4 6.5" speakers with an amp?

My car might be slow, but at least it looks nice!

I changed out my four factories with 6 3/4 Kicker Component speakers. I have those four running off just my pioneer deck and I have an amp running to two tens in the back. Oh yeah, I still used the tweets in the front too.

I'm running my front JL components off a JL 300/2 amp and the stock rears off my head unit. Next is a 10w7, 500/1, and an equalizer

Thanks Rookie GTS. Let me know if you run into any snags. I might be able to help you out. I did the speaker install myself but had the Pioneer deck installed at a sound shop.

I have a great headunit: Pioneer AVH-6600. However, when I put my shit up loud, it gets a little distorted, you know. I want to be able to blast my music and have it sound krystal clear! What do you think?

yeah i just bought some upgrade speakers, but you seriously need an upgraded head unit, cause stock is crap, it will make your upgraded speakers sound horrible!
