hi there everyone i just stop by my tire shop and i told them i wanted the largest size tires possible for my 18 in rims. the manager there said that there was a lot of room if i dont lower it . he said that he will put on the back 235/40/18s on the rear and 225/40/18s in the front of my celica. wow that sounds so much bigger than the size i currently have on. which is 215/35/18. i will go back to the shop sometime next week to get it done. im soo exicited to see it done. he also said that if it rubs saying IF it gets to that point then there is also a pad that shops can put in to protect the car. what do you think about this? good or bad? let me know thanks. wave

actually the front he said i think he said that he was going to try to put 225/45/18s...not 225/40/18s. and the back was correct 235/40/18s. it does sound crazy doesnt it? well next week is the day he will put them on. cant wait to see it. smile

Sounds good, but i still wonder why the wider tires go on the non-drive wheels? I know it looks better and helps handling a little bit, but for better acceleration and traction, shouldnt the wider tires go on the front? Just my $.02 Should still look good though thumbsup

ahhhhh actually its all wrong these guys at that shop , cant do anything right. they keep on giving me wrong sizes , this is the 3rd time they screwed me.because they are lazy to help me out. i will find a new shop on monday to do this . but the right size is at least 225/45/18s in back and front also. but if it does not fit in front then , 225/40/18s in the front.maybe even larger in back if possible. i will let you know in the beginning of next week. its just so much space in between i know that i can fit something really big in there.
