just a quick question here maybe its dumb but i really dont know...
i took a look at those a month ago not looking into buying just doing some research but why are those so cheap compared to the TRD big brake kit

AEM were 658 and i believe trd are over 2000
maybe im mis-reading something so some help would be nice here thumbsup

How much better stop distance are you gonna see? I remember in a article about how they did it to a STR-4 and after all said and done they paid like $500. The only ended stoping like 5ft sooner on the 60-0.

what you were looking at I bet was just the replacement rotor and caliper relocation bracket. Meaning you only got a new rotor and you used the stock caliper and pads, just a new larger rotor?? The TRD is a whole replacement of the caliper/rotor/stainless lines/new pads I believe.

i had them on mine...it does not help ur stoping distance. Its basically for looks. I loved mine. it is just a new rotor and bracket. U use the stock caliper. Heres a pic of mine.

this is not a true big brake kit and is mainly for looks only... hence, imo not a good purchase. all you get are bigger rotors while still using your stock calipers etc. The TRD/Rotora/Stoptech big brake kits include 4-piston calipers, rotors, SSBL's, and pads.

- easy to see why there's a price difference - wink

If you don't ant to spend $2,000 on brakes, simply buy new rotors (Rotora, Brembo, etc), lines, and pads separately. This is the route I chose...

they are mainly for looks only.

if you want a better stopping distance, you have to have ur calipers upgraded to 4 piston or up.

changing just bigger rotor will not help in brake distance, it might help a little in high speed (over 80mph), but they will most likely extend the brake distance in low speed. idunno

i was to change my rotor to AEM big brake kit too, but after researching, i decided not to change to any big brake kits. cos they eat off more gas, and might longer the distance of braking at low speeds. since im not racing my celi...
