I looked at the Eclipse... it didn't come in the color i wanted
I then looked at several Honda - they were over priced and the 2001 civic that we already had, was falling apart only after 3 months - so that was out of the question

i didn't care for anything domestic - the interiors looked outdated

my price range at the time was $18k through $24k

Well I owned a 2000 Acura Integra Type-R and I traded it for the Celica GTS.. I think that should speak for itself.

But I still would have rather went with a 80's Porsche 911 or '98 Porsche Boxster.

I was like isaac. I checked and test drove the Eclipse besides the Celica. I was also thinking the S2000, but it was out of my price range, and maybe VW GTI, but passed on that idea. At that time the RSX and I believe the WRX weren't out. I compare the Celica to the RSX and if I had to choose between the two at that time I would've chosen the Acura.

1998-1999 Eclipse GSX
1995 RX-7
2002 RSX-S
1997 Supra Turbo
1997 6th Gen Celica
2002 WRX

I found a Supra Turbo for a great price, but my folks said that it was an outdated car confused

I chose the 7th Gen Celica because it was the best looking out of the list of cars I wanted.

I had always wanted the celica, but when it came down to turning 16 and actually getting a car, i looked at the rsx a lot too, but they were a lot more, and we got a good deal on my 01 gt.

My previous car was a '99 Corolla, so I knew I wanted another Toyota. When I laid eyes on an '00 Celica that was the car for me. But I had to hang onto my '99 another year for cost effectiveness & then I bought my '01 Celica.

I test drove an Integra Type R and an Oldmobile Alero 3800, both were faster with more horse but neither had the feel and look of the Celica.

93-95 RX7
95-98 240SX
DC2 Integra
RSX

And the reasons why I picked the celica:

RX-7: Didn't have enough money at the time for the maintenace and rebuild.
240SX: Couldn't find a 5spd.
Integra: They get jacked left and right, so the insurance would've been ridiculous.
RSX: A lil too much out of my price range.

RSX-S
ITR
240SX
97-up prelude SH's

If i couldn't afford any of those, i would of gotten a black 1991 240SX.

Compared it to a Prelude, Civic SI, and Integra GSR.

This was back in 00 so those were my options, lol.
