Does anyone know how many pucs the street clutch has. Am I right about TRD having only a street clutch and a race clutch? Does anyone have any info on these or links?

I don't about the TRD exactly but street clutches are usually 6 pucs and race are 4 pucs

the trd usa has only 10% increase and from what i've been told it isn't too different from stock. the clutch plate is still stock, too. the trd japan has a 30% increase in pedal pressure with a ferodo plate and everyone who has it says it's worth the extra money. might as well get a lightweight flywheel from trd japan while you're at it since labor is about the same. seems to be a more noticeable mod than the intake or exhaust.

Thanks for the info. How much does this kit usually run? and how much for the flywheel, what are the gains?

usa kit goes for around $350 and the japan kit can be twice that. flywheel is only from japan and it goes for about $450. sounds like a lot but the benefits aren't TRUE "horsepower" but they allow (especially with the flywheel) more horsepower/torque to the wheel. usa or japan is of course better than stock with more durability and longevity so think of them as investments besides better performance.

I have the JDM TRD clutch kit. This thing doesn't play, pure performance. I love it!

Steven, can you explain what differences I'm going to notice? Will it help shifting faster?

yes, it will help you shift faster because there is a less distance that the clutch catches at from the ground. there is very little "play" with the clutch and you'll find that it is as firm as a stock clutch only it can handle 30%? more torque.

So, $380 shipped is a good price for the Japa kit? How much torque overall will this support? and,,,how does it rate in quality and price compared to ACT or Centerforce?

It takes getting use to, when I got mine It was hard to shift cause the clutch catches way on the bottom. After awhile your leg gets used to it.

with a turbo or supercharger you will definitely need a clutch that can handle more torque. act, exedy, centerforce, blitz and a handful of others manufacture heavy duty clutch kits.
