He probably didn't do his homework before installing it. Or he was using too big of a shot, or his car wasn't in good enough condition to be spraying... there are a number of factors that could have caused this... If you want to start spraying, make sure you have the basic bolt ons like intake, exhaust and an aftermarket clutch so your car can breath well. you don't really need an AF clutch but it will be a good idea to get one...
