I went to a local car audio store near me. the guy that owns the place also owns a 01 celica GTS 6spd. the guy looked to be in his mid 50's. when i pulled up he came up and talked to me about the celica, how he put a Injen CAI, FSTB, RSTB and a few other things on his car. he also said he planned on getting the trd exhaust. Anyways i thought it was kinda cool running into a older guy that was into the celica and modding it.

I hear ya brother. The difference between us old guys and the young pups is this.

Young guys want to mod, so they have to take the time to save for it.

Old guys want to mod, we have the money, but we have to take the time to get permission from our wives. LOL

Not to mention my insurance is about $70 a month full coverage with collision. Oh, I'm the ripe old age of 34. Now where is my cane sonny.

That is the truest thing I've read yet. Glad I'm not the only one who has to convince the wife the mods are necessary!! And insurance, I have Celica, Hyundai Accent, Honda 599 all full coverage NO deductible for anything and I pay $700/year total. I don't know how these youngER guys afford it. I'll get your cane if you find me the metamucil!!

That may be true at 65, not 42. I don't need to feel young again. I have never had anything BUT Performance vehicles, with the Celica being one of the weaker ones, but the handling is what makes it fun to drive. Point is, just because I am getting older doesn't mean all of a sudden I need to change my tastes, and start driving Park Avenues or Vans. I could say young people like to drive sports cars to feel important or successful, but that is also a generalization and not (always) true. Sorry if I overreacted but I hear this shit all the time and it does bother me. My .02
Oh, and as for "can't drive worth shit" I know you mean like REALLy old people, and you are largely correct I'm afraid. On the other hand I sure see a lot of " How do I learn to drive a stick?" posts too!

older people driving cars designed for a younger crowd is awesome!!!! thumbsup thumbsup you better bet your ass that as I grow older and have more funds that I'm gonna be modding the balls out of my cars grin grin...I have a girlfriend now that I'll probably end up marrying, and she loves what I do with my celi...she wants a 350Z, and says that as long as she's the one driving it, I can mod it all I want, and then mod my car to try and keep up with her thumbsup
