Is it possible to put a GTS head on a GT block? What are the advantages to doing this? Does the GTS head flow better?

My car is gunna be 10x faster than yours...haha... I'm gunna buy like 10
of those speedchips! I figure if 1 gets me 20hp then 10 will get me 200hp!

It's not.

They are two COMPLETELY different engines.

Yah, I suppose you have tried it then?

The two engines are not that much different.

It comes down to bolt pattern & cylinder diameter. I was under the impression that the cylinder diameter in the 2ZZ was different along with the stroke, but I am not sure.

No, I personally haven't tried this, but it's been discussed MANY times before (Which you would know if you searched for it)

It simply will not work.

The Gt and GTS engines aren't even remotely close, the only thing they share is total displacement rolleyes

They are two very different engines.

"The valves will hit the bores and the bore center to center is different IIRC"

From a member on that "other celica site"

It won't work.

More:

"I could go on and on, but the best thing is to do a search. This was taked about at length a couple times.

The short of it was:

a) the bolt patterns do not match up.
b) the cylinders are a different bore
c) the oil delivery system for the GTS head is more complex and needs more stuff then what the 1zz-fe engine has.
d) the CPU is different with different oil pressor sensors and different silonoids. (the 2zz-ge ecu can not run the 1zz-fe block and the 1zz-fe ecu can't run the 2zz-ge head). So you would have to get some after market ecu and program it completely different from both the 1zz and 2zz engines.

You could probably overcome some or maybe all of the issues above, but it would probably be much cheeper and better to put a whole 2zz-ge engine in instead.

The integra GSR can get the type-R head bolted to it because it is the same engine with just a different/reworked head. the 1zz-fe and 2zz-ge are two different engines with two different heads. The bore is different the stroke is different even what the block is cast out of and the cylinder liners are different.

I'm can go on and on and miss 1/2 the stuff, if you really what to know the whole story, find the previous post. I'm not trying to be bitchy or something, it's just that if you really want a good answer find the other post and you'll have it."

Good enough. I thought the bore was different & that alone would prevent it. The rest of the issues would definately make it unpractical.

Telling someone a fact is one thing. Making comments about that someone's "ignorant mind" is another.

That was another thread too. You both got worked up over nothing, but that one's over. Haulin_A_Doo is agreeing with you, no need to tell him off.

All I've ever posted was facts, but he seems to think I'm some sort of retard.

He even made an e-threat asking me to tell him that to his face.

It's sig worthy.

If you want to flame each other to no end, go to the off topic forum. stop using up space where we should be answering people's questions.

better yet there's a chat room that's never occupied.
