install instructions:

Divide the electrical system (excluding your new meter) of the car in four categories.
1. The battery.
2. The starter.
3. The alternator.
4. The rest of the system.

The battery has a big wire connected to the starter. This circuit must never, never, never be run through the ammeter.

When you're finished this is how it's supposed to be:
Battery connects directly to starter.
Alternator main output connects directly to main feed of "the rest of the system". Note that "main feed" in this case may consist of more than one wire!
Ammeter connects with + to the above main feed, - connects to battery positive terminal.

if you dont unserstand how to install it, go to a shop.

hey spatz i got a few questions. i think i understand this but i wanna make sure. ok so the postive from the ammeter goes to the alternator (the point where the other wires connect as well) and the negaitve from te ammeter gets hooked up to the positve terminal of the battery. right? now how come there's no ground. i thought that the negative is always supposed to be grounded so why did you say that run the negative to the positive terminal. now the last thing is where is that spot on the alternator or the main feed spot where i'm supposed to connect the ammeter positive wire. if possible could you take a pic of that and post it in here or send to my e-mail address fahad_s02@yahoo.com i would appreciate ur assistance and would hate to take it to a shop when i should be able to do it myself. thnx!

i didnt install this on a celi...

the negative wire (ground) goes to the negative terminal of the battery... its another way of grounding wires...

check ecelica's wiring diagrams for the alternator...

i'm not exactly sure which wire it is on the alternator, you can find out by checking it with a multimeter.
