yea, i was on Ebay, and actually know this guy that sold my friend a universal tanabe muffler, it sounds so great even with the stock down pipe...about 4 months later i've decided that i want one too and so i contacted the guy, he sold me one directly. Also, from claremont toyota on Ebay i bought the hotchkis springs for 195 shipped.

Here's the tricky part. My parents don't want me doing ANYTHING to my car, but after literally 10 months of BEGGING they've let me get just a muffler (of course i'm going to make a custom downpipe...duh:rotf:) but they say NO WAY to the springs.

I'm hoping to install them at the same time so they don't notice which should work, but the bad thing is i just bought them in fear of somebody else buying them and i'm leaving on Sunday for a weeklong vacation...in which my parents and brother are still going to be here...I've already asked my brother to keep look out for it, so thats cool, but damn i hope the mail doesn't come late one day...

blah...just had to get it off my chest thumbsup WIsh me luck!!! spineyes spineyes thumbsup

good luck dude! Don't worry all will go well. I think that if your parents understand that they will let you mod it. I am 16 and look at what I have done to may car. My dad doesn't care, but I think it is because he knows about this stuff since he is in the business. You'll be fine don't worry. Hotchkis springs are excellent from what I have heard! grin

thanks man, i'm only 16 as well and also have a gts, but that is why my parents are hesitant to LET ME SPEND MY HARD EARNED MONEY...they think that it is good enough without mods...which it is...but can be hellaciously better with em thumbsup

yep I worked my ass off for my money and continue to do so. I think if you talk to them they should understand. Anyway...nothing can go wrong when you mod it..just do the right thing.

Hey, congrats on the new mods. I have a question for you though...Why are you changing your downpipe? That is unnecessary. The stock downpipe is fine unless you are just getting a stainless one made, which is still not worth it. What you might want to do is, get a custom made midpipe for that tanabe universal muffler. This is just my 2 cents, but do what you want.

Dan

PS, could you make your sig a little smaller?

Yea im 16 also, my parents don't care if I mod the outside and looks of the car. Actually, they support it cause I work all the time for money but they are totally against me doing anything to the engine but they will never know the difference.

Good luck with sneaking on the hotchkis I hope it all works out thumbsup

O well once you have them on its going to be to late to do anything. I don't know how angry they might be but I doubt they pay to have the hotchkis removed and the stock springs back on.
