With my new 2004 Celica, I recently rotated the tires, and found the lug nuts with this white powdery corrosion---anything that can be done about this?

Not really. You can't lube them because you might lose a wheel. All you can do is wire brush them if you can do it without scratching the rims. Maybe CLR might help.

clean them good and spray lube and non rust formula to help slow down the corrosion process, or buy new ones!!

If you spray them with any sort of lubricant, your playing with your life.

Why not just oil your brakes, they will last longer too.

lubing the lug studs before putting on studs is common practice for tire guys who know what there doing torqueing the wheels to spec is the best thing overtight may crack resulting in breaking and not jus tighting to body wieght as far as what type of lube any water displacing is ok spay dont get it on calipers or brake pads wipe off excess drips but wd40 or pennzoil Z4 works good just spray a squirt on luggs or spray into lug nuts then install however clean first mine had powder also thats what i did rotate mine every 6,000 mile 4 time with spray not one loose nut yet

Yah, they lube the stud not the lug nuts. The friction between the lug nut and the rim is what keeps it from coming loose.

Let me tell you my concern. Corrosion is loss of metal. When you have two dissimilar pieces of metal touching each other, you get an exchange of electrons--this is also called a battery. Yes, a battery like the kind you have in your portable radio. A battery is basically two dissimilar metals next to each other causing a current. Anyway, when you have steel next to Aluminum wheels, you get the corrosion. I am just concerned about loss of metal on the expensive wheels, and I am concerned about getting the lug nuts off when I need to get them off. I don't care about cheap lug nuts, those are easy to get.
