I need help here! I just put in a set of RJ autoworks blue light condoms to make my Climate control lights light up blue. But I must have done something to the panel when I took off the black frame to get to the little lights. Now my AC button light as well as the other climate control lights do not work, the defrost button light still works. Also important to point out the AC works just the little light does not come on when you push it.

What did I do? How do I fix it?

I have not checked the fuses yet I will do that but I have a feeling that is not it because the defrost light still works. But I could be wrong.

Check the fuses, if they are fine you'll need a new board because you probably blew the little board fuses.

EDIT: When working with electrical always disconnect the negative battery terminal or pull the fuse so you don't run the risk of blowing something up. smile

not sure what fuse you might have blown...i would check every single one of them..u should get one of them fuse checker at wal-mart for like 2bucks..u just place the tip on the fuse and if it work then it will light up if not then it won't light up..check all of the fuses..and good luck bro..hope everything work out for ya..

^^ Yeah, obviously from what you're asking, no one has experienced that PARTICULAR problem... Take a deep breath and then check ALL(process of elimination) your fuses. If all the fuses are ok then you have a circuit board problem. Also make sure the everything in that general area(climate controls) is plugged tightly. thumbsup

I have the same problem you do, I put a neon tube behind the climate control lights so I can see those, but my AC light button doesn't light up, while the defrost button does. I don't know what to do either, and I kinda find it annoying when I press the AC button and I don't know if it's on or off. wtf

i had that prob, and i found which fuse it is...it is located on the right side of the center console, right by where the front passengers left knee would be...if i remember its the farthest forward of the 6 prong fuses...oh and another lil piece of info, if you were to flip the fuse around your lights will now work, but your sterio will be dead...thats how i found it, i blew that fuse for the sterio side, turned the fuse around, the sterio worked, but the climate control lights were out...

oh yeah, you can pick these fuses up ONLY at the dealership (trust me on this, i searched) for bout $5 a piece...

good luck, i hope thats all of your problems, and its not something more major...

I responded to something you said about this in another thread, but I'll say it again...

The boards which contain the lights are very brittle. One of my lights wanted to stop working, and gently flicking the board would turn it on again. Then, at one point in time, both lights went out.

In the interior fuse block in front of the passenger seat, there are four multi fuses. Two of them are 7.5 amps I believe. Take them both out and check to see if any of the links are broken or blown. The only place you can buy them are at the dealerships since they are bullshit Jap fuses.

If that doesn't work, a new circuit board will cost you about $65.

Right now, both of my bulbs went out again, and the fuses aren't the culprit this time, so I'm gonna perform diagnostics on the board whenever I get free time. I might just hard wire positive charges to the bulbs at one point in time.

Long story short...

The circuit boards suck and are extremely delicate. Just moving them will damage them. Bullshit.

slidr, its probebly not the fact that they are extremely delicate, its probebly that the boards are ESD (Electro-static Discharge) sensitive. Meaning that if you have any static electricity built up on your person and you touch the board it will release to the board and blow the sensitive circuits...

also, a microchip can be blown by a static charge of as low as 10 volts, but a person wont feel a static discharge if its any lower than about 1500 volts...

so you can touch your board and not even know it but you've just blown your board...sorry man, hope thats not what happened...

I'm thinking that a connection is loose, whether it be a ground or positive voltage. Either way, it's gayness.

I checked my fuses last night, and it wasn't that. I'm guessing I messed up the circuit board when I tried installing the blue neon tube back there idunnodamn $65 for a new board...It's just so weird how a lot of people mentioned that only the AC light went out and the defroster one was fine.

That happened with my old board. The AC light wouldn't light up, but if I pressed the button while applying a ground to one of the prongs on the AC LED, it would light up.

It's not that it was burnt out, but rather the fact that it was missing a ground.
