How about I sell you mine with a filter for 70 dollars plus shipping. Its the henry vo pvc pipe. I would only sell it because I'm planning to swap my engine around dec or january. I would have any use for that pipe after that. If you have a 5sfe all you ahve to do is relocate your fuse box because the pipe is 3 inches.

Well I guess you can always resort to using a honda Intake and bootlegging it to make it fit. I don't see whats wrong with the pvc cai. Put it this way, given that we both have 5sfe and if both of our motors were 100% I would accelerate faster. If your running on your stock Intake box, this pipe will definately improve your acceleration. Ask anyone that has made the henry vo Intake. The only cai you can get is the iceman and that has been out of production for a few years. If you do find one you won't find it cheaper than 100$. As a matter a fact there is one on sale in the b/s forums on c.net.

PVC is designed to carry pressurized water -- it can handle an engine pulling in air, and it has no problem handling heat either. UV it's not so fond of -- but unless you're running a grow-op in your engine bay that shouldn't be an issue.

Though if you want better heat insulation, instead of using PVC pipe, get PVC conduit (grey instead of white). It's designed to enclose electrical cables or hot water systems. It's more expensive than regular PVC...I'd just use a ceramic-based paint and regular PVC; the combinatin is less heat conductive than aluminum.

Either PVC is lighter than aluminum pipe, and a lot cheaper. grin

Hey, Peque+/-o...a 3" Henry Vo won't fit in an automatic 5S-FE? I've been mapping it out -- planning to put a 3" in myself -- and haven't seen any conflicts with the transmission. frown

Where'd you run into problems? confused

I bought a Weapon R short ram dragon intake for my 91 GTS. It works nice and looks good its a pretty tight fit for it though.
