Hey,

So now that I have fixed my Drive Belt and Belt Tensioner, I am going to tackle another problem.

The problem is this loud humming/whistling noise that is coming from the engine which then transfers it everywhere in the car. It is pretty loud and sometimes it even hurts my ear.

I was wondering if anyone has ever encountered this before. Reason why I think it is not suppose to be doing this is because I drove a 2000 GT for about 4 years and never had this type of noise. I know that the GTS is suppose to be louder, but this noise is like a big ass howling wind or something. Any ideas on what it is, or how to check it?

This does not happen when I am driving normally on the streets or anything. I hear it most when I drive real fast.

But I mean, this is loud tho. Like stated before, I have driven 80-90MPH on my 2000 Celica GT which has the same body type as my 2000 GTS and it never produces the same amount of noise, not even close.

And the noise sounds like it is coming from the engine bay not the windshield.

That could be the problem. At first I was thinking that it might be from the stock hood scoop, but I dunno.

How does one alligned the hood perfectly?

I will do that soon. Just got back from there 2 days ago because of my Drive Belt/Belt Tensioner problem. Guy told me that they will take care of it one by one, guy wants me to pay $50 bucks per case or something.

Open your hood with your engine running & rev it up. If it doesn't make the sound, it is something other than your motor.

Try different things & narrow down exactly what causes it & when.

yeah mine is 2000 GTS manual, it is not too loud but you can hear it when you push the gas and release the gas. I don't know if that's the same problem as yours. but what the hell I don't even care about it cause I think it is fine..

basically, just take a pair of pilars and pinch the black triangle piece.

use a cloth to prevent scratching.

Fixed. thumbsup
