Went to my Toyota dealership yesterday to price up a new T Sport in case my insurance writes my car off. He said there'll be a brand new shape coming out for the Celica in about 18 months, but its unlikely to look like any of the concept cars that have been shown in the press. Most of the Toyota dealers don't have any idea of what it will look like either.

I know most people on here are from America so this might not really interest you as they're discontinuing the Toyota sports models over there anyway.

New body style eh? I would doubt it because here they are killing it off in 2005

Yeah, only in America though. They've only just brought out new variations of the existing shape over here. The Celica Blue and Celica Red.

^^ yup, I read somewhere on this site that Toyota is only discontinuing the Celica in America. 18 months until a new Celica...I guess I'll have to import one when it is released. laughsilly

Is that true?? Only discontinueing it in America? Its true the best stuff never gets over here--I believe, maybe I'm wrong, but isn't there a GT-R Celica in Japan that has 4 wheel steering? I read that once somewhere...

yup its true. America always takes the fun out, like before the evos were not allowed here. or the skylines, it should be just a matter of time till they come back. or you just have to spend a lot more on importing one, but yeah its true, they only discontinued in America,

Also the MR-2. Toyota is replacing the Celica with its Scion line. Every dealership I've been to says that their Celica sales are down, but I see and average of two a day, and I don't get out of the house much!
