Just you...

I just installed the same springs by myself today, and have not noticed that at all.

Did the person who installed your springs remember to put the stabilizer link back into the strut assembly?

Look at your struts, and make sure that the stabilizer link is connected like it is in the picture. That could be what is rattling. Either that, or something may be dragging under your car.

Um, does the noise happen when you engine brake, or only when you have the throttle pressed down?

Cause if that's what you are talking about, then there has been some issues with this. My car does this, especially when the AC is on, but it's not the compressor, and no one knows for sure what it is.

All I know is that it isn't the engine, so I don't care. grin

Also, if it's when you have the AC on, then your compressor could be shot.

Fumes or smoke, or both?

Did you recently do any engine work, or any other type of work under the hood like changing your oil?

Just thought of something...

Is there a possibility that a screw, or even a tool was left under the hood and forgotten about?

I've done that once. It wasn't inside of the hood, but rather on that black plastic vent right above it in front of the windshield.

Drove around for 3 days with a ratchet up there before my gf spotted it.

I told her that I knew that it was there, just so I wouldn't look dumb.
