Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Condensation trouble

My car just barely survived a really bad flood a couple of weeks ago. I had to replace the ecu; I should've got the power fc, but damn, I wasnt thinking straight. Plus I needed my car back asap. Anyways, my headlights have really bad condensation in them. In fact, water is standing in the housing. Is there any way to get it out? The dealership wouldnt replace the lights because they could tell I had taken them apart. Honestly, I didnt want them to replace them, because I spent a long time painting the plastic pieces inside the headlight. If anyone knows what I should do, I would really appreciate any advice.

You could take the headlights out and open them up yourself, but that can be a pain in the ass cause you have to take the whole bumper off and bake the headlights. I tried to do so, but realized that you need a huge oven to fit the lights in.

Another thing you can do (since its summer and all) is just park the car in the heat all day, dry them out, and then get some caulk or some sort of sealant and go over the seal with it.

Yeah I thought about taking them apart again, but I really dont want to do that unless I really have to. Where can I get the stuff to reseal them?

Hardware store, although I don't know the name of it.

Just look around for something that can seal plastic, and that has somewhat of a heat tolerancy.

Although, the stock sealant doesn't.
