Anybody have a good method for removing pin stripes without damaging the paint?

use a hairdryer to heat it up, then use ur nails to get it off

then use goo gone to get rid of the glue afterwards thumbsup

or else peel it off while its hot out, and scrub with a wet rag when you got it off to get the line. ooh yeah and depending on how long the stripe has been on then youlls have a lighter paint line down your car. hahahahahha thumbsup

that happend with mine, was on since 91...and now its off hahaha

hair drier and goo gone, just like xrage4200 said. works great.

Oh OK, thanks. I'd removed the rear badges like that just didn't know if the stripes would come off the same way. And goo b gone won't hurt the paint huh? My car is a 2002 so hopefully I won't have a lghter paint layer under it.

Yeah, once that is removed, your paint will be lighter in those areas. I did it to my sisters car and boy was she pissed. thumbsdown

removing pinstripes was the very first thing I did. I just peeled and used goo b gone. No paint fade because car is silver! thumbsup

I like pinstripes.. I had a custom one put on smirk now I feel dumb since everyone hates them :S

a pinstripe is just vinyl...
get an edge up with your finger, then peel it off, they come off real easily...
then polish that area to make it blend back in with the normal paint.
