I'm trying to figure out which bulb is best for fog lights. The PIAA H3 Xtreme Whites or their H3 Ion Crystal. Comments and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't have pics of them. You can find the products at http://www.piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulbs-H3.html but there aren't any pics of them installed. The Ion Crystals are a yellow color supposedly reflects less off of fog so they are better in the fog than white light. They are also cheaper than the xtreme white fog lights. I'm just trying to figure out the pros and cons of the crystal ion vs the xtreme whites as fog lights. I think the xtreme whites would "look" better, but as far as how they would do in the fog, I have no clue. Thanks!

click on the picture attachment link. the low-beam is piaa extreme white plus H7. the projection by the stock foglights actually made the extreme white looks dimm. after i've switched to walmart foglights housing, it's a lot brighter than that pic...

if your going for looks.. sure get the PIAA H3 Xtreme Whites ..

but if your looking for better Performance and especially in bad weather.. wet roads.. fog..etc.. get
H3 Ion Crystal happywink

**Remember
white light gets eaten up on the roads when its wet..
where as yellow light still remains visible even if the cement is wet... thumbsup

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. Do Xtreme whites help in fog at all or is it purely for looks?

I think white is purely for looks... when I ran into fog and had white ... just reflected back and made it worse... So I changed it to ion yellow from piaa and that thing just helped.. highly recommended thumbsup

you could probably have hid's in your fogs and you'd get worse results.. and practically as good as halogen in bad weather..ion yellow should give you the best results by far.. thumbsup

just as ken stated.."when I ran into fog and had white ... just reflected back and made it worse... "

Alright, Ion Yellow's it is. The TRD fog lights take the H3 bulbs correct? Seems like all of the fog lights for Celica, both stock and TRD are H3, but just want to make sure before I order them! smile

I have the ion bublbs installed and I love them. They are more practical and they look way better. I would post some pics but it is day time!

TRD fogs are already yellow housing or should I say Ion housing... so you can just put any halogen bulb in there.. and it will just come out yellow...

I had TRD fog lights... still do in my apartment... still for sale I guess... hahaha
